The sitting room has been furnished to make it a comfortable and practical and the perfect place to relax after a day on the beach. The sitting area has two lovely chairs in Zebra and Leopard fabric and a Chesterfield sofa to curl up and watch the TV. The bay window looks over the road to Lyme and is the perfect place to sit and watch the comings and goings of the village.

Relaxing
Entertainment
The Smart TV has Freeview and all the catchup services plus Now TV, Amazon Prime and Netflix channels. We have also added an Apple TV which can stream from Apple iPhones and iPads. We have put maps and books under the TV about the area.
Eating
A dining table and four comfortable chairs with all the tableware and glasses you will need is the perfect place to enjoy dinner or a delivery from the many restaurants in Lyme who do great takeaway meals. The finishing touches of pictures and candle lights add to the atmosphere.
Outside Entertainment
The side door opens onto the small courtyard area with seating where you can enjoy a glass and watch the world pass by. The garden has been replanted this year with lots of spring bulbs and plants. A new climbing rose has also been planted in the front garden to train over the gate and railings.
Art
On the main wall is a watercolour painting of the cottage from further up the road. The painting was done by an artist TM Duke and was painted in 1929. You can see how the area has changed. We have not been able to find the artist who may have been on a tour of Dorset in the 1920s.
We have recently framed a series of line prints from the 1800s. The print in the sitting room was first framed in the 1920s in Newport. Sadly the original framing was badly damaged. A few line prints also hang in a frame, these came from the old bookshop in Lyme.
The watercolour in the hallway is also Lyme. The subject is the walkway by the Mill in Lyme Regis. It has not changed much since it was painted in the 1920’s. Again we don’t know the artist but may have been painted as part of a tour of Dorset as was the fashion then.
