GENERAL INFORMATION
Parking: For up to 1 car.
Utilities: Included.
Linen: Included – beds made up.

Pets: We do not allow dogs as the cottage as the space is not really suitable.
Energy: The supply at Blacksmith’s is 100% renewable electricity and 10% green gas. For every unit of electricity you use, a unit is produced and put on the grid by a renewable source like Oak Grove Solar Farm in Monmouthshire. In addition, 10% of the gas comes from biomethane. That’s gas produced from organic matter like sewage and manure – which is then reinjected onto the grid (minus the smell).
Waste and Recycling: We have a combined waste and recycling service. All the rubbish, glass and plastic all goes into a large blue bin, then this is sorted and recycled at the centre. This means we recycle much more of your waste.
Plastic: There are things we can all do to help reduce the number of single-use plastics that we dispose of every day and we want to reduce the plastic we send to landfill from the Blacksmith’s cottage and to stop plastic getting into the Lim and sea at Lyme Regis
A few things we can all do, use your own bags instead of a plastic carrier bag. Remember to say ‘no straw please’ or ask if they have a paper one (we have added reusable straws to the house). Take your own cup out with you, use your own water bottle. In Lyme Regis a number of shops, cafés, restaurants and hotels show a refill scheme sticker, just stroll in and ask for a top up.
We would ask you not to use cotton buds and flushable wipes in the toilet as these get into the wastewater system. Finally pick up any plastic or rubbish you see on your travels: on the beach, and the countryside in Uplyme.
All of these small things can make a very big difference!
